Sunscreen Tips You Need To Adopt

July 5, 20178:15 AM

I have to admit it! I do have an obsession with sunscreen πŸ˜€
When I got my first job in the USA at the age of 17, I didn't own a car so I had to take the public transportation in order to get to my job. Miami-Dade public transportation it's kind complicated and not as good compare to those big cities such as New York, Boston, Washington, and others. To get to my job, I had to stand for 30 minutes or an 45 waiting outside in the sun for the bus, so it can take me to the metro station and from there I had to walk like five more minutes to get to the store I worked for.

I'm pretty sure there's a loooot of people who still have this routine in their lives, and there's nothing wrong with that. However, in Miami you must know that the sun and the heat tend to be very strong, so you need to take care of your skin. In my case, I didn't take care of my skin, and by that I meant that I didn't apply sunscreen. Not even my makeup had sunscreenπŸ™„ . That mistake led me to two little things I hate the most in my face, two small sun spots😞.

Today I'm writing this post, because I want everybody to know the importance of sunscreen and protecting yourself from the sun. Even if you don't live in Miami or take public transportation, this post is still for you. As long as you live in the planet Earth and have a skin that you want to protect then you qualify for a SUNSCREEN!☺️ ☀️

Sunscreen MUST DO:

1) Apply sufficient sunscreen. Try to apply enough sunscreen to protect your skin (If possible two layers).

2) Make sure you reapply your sunscreen every 45-60 minutes. People usually think that once they put their sunscreen on that will be enough for the whole day. IT'S NOT! So if you tend to forget, please put an alarm on your phone and your skin will thank you for this.

3) Make sure you get the right ingredients on your SPF. Not every SPF will be sufficient to protect you. (Click here to see which ingredients to look for on a SPF).

4) Do wear your sunscreen every day, and not only at the beach.

5) Wear sunscreen around the eyes as well. Don't leave them expose to the sun.

6) Don't think that just because your makeup has SPF you will be covered. Don't count with that.

7) Try to find the right sunscreen that sits well on your skin. If your sunscreen burns your skin, then it's time to change the formula or brand.

8) Lastly, PLEASE GUYS!!!!! Don't think that because your SPF has the 100+ written on the label it will be real πŸ™„ . Trust me, it's not real. There is no such thing as SPF 100+. Take a look to the picture below and read the first paragraph or click here: CLICK

I hope you can apply all the sunscreen must do in your life, and your skin will last longer.

Now take a look at these sunscreen that I'm currently using and why I choose them.

1) Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector:

Broad Spectrum SPF 42 For the face. Water-resistant. I love how this SPF feel on the face, and the fact that it has a good amount of zinc (12.5%).

2) Shiseido Ultimate Skin Protector Lotion:

Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ For face and body, water-resistant. I bought this one specifically for those beach/pool days or if I go for a run outside. I apply this one only on my body since I use the one above for the face. I love how it also feels on the skin and how it actually activates with the water.

This one specifically is for sensitive skin and children, which the bad thing about it is that if you have deeper skin tone it will leave you white. However, I choose this one because it has a higher zinc percentage ( 19.3%)  than the regular one.

3) Shiseido Sports BB:
Oh I have love this one here!! I never used BB Cream before until I found out about this one here. Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ Water-Resistant

I love how I don't breakout with this BB cream, how it stays on your skin even after going in the water. I love using this one for the gym, sometimes to the beach, and maybe on those days I want to go bare on my face. It does have a little tint on it, which I love.

4) Clinique Mineral Sunscreen fluid for face (Sensitive skin formula):

Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Invisible shield. When Clinique came out with this mineral sunscreen, I knew I had to try it. I looove the feel of it, and that it won't leave my face white as well. Oh and yeah! It is oil free

I don't recommend this one for the beach or pool just because it's not water-resistant. It's more for like everyday or those days you know you're going to be out in the sun for a long time (remember to always re-apply your sunscreen). I love that the main two ingredients in this sunscreen are titanium Dioxide (6.3% ) and Zinc Oxide  (4.0% ), which are the most important ingredients that you want to look for on a sunscreen.

5) Clinique Super City Block

Oil-free daily face protector. Broad Spectrum SPF 40. I recommend this pone for everyday use. Unless I'm going to the beach or workout outside I use the sunscreen listed above; Otherwise, always use this sunscreen. It's perfect for under makeup, you can use it around your eyes, and it can also work as a primer. It comes in SPF 25 AND 40, of course the 40 has a higher percentage in ZINC ( 6.0% ) and TITANIUM DIOXIDE ( 5.2% ) than the SPF 25.

6) Other Sunscreens recommended for higher protection:

Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 (This is if you're wearing makeup and want to re-apply sunscreen. Instead just spray this mist and you'll be good).

So, if your sunscreen is not giving you the right protection, or you actually haven't tried any of the sunscreen tips I shared with you today, then go ahead and change your sunscreen and apply those tips. Like I said before, your skin will thank your for thatπŸ’•.

Hope you enjoy this post!! Go ahead and leave me a comment down belowπŸ‘‡ with your thoughts about it. Btw, Do you have any other good sunscreen tips? πŸ€”πŸ‘‡πŸ’•
