My Take It All Off routine

October 15, 20168:42 AM

I'm so excited to make my first post about beauty. I've done a couple posts where I show you my favorite fashion items of the month, and you can also find some beauty products as well. However, this one is all about beauty😁. So for my first beauty post, I wanted to write about something relevant to me and for you guys as well.

Since I was little I've been in love with makeup and the skin care. I remember when I used to make my own facial mask with oatmeal, honey and all that stuff. I also used to apply all my mom's skin care products πŸ˜‚. Now that I work for a skin care line, I learned so much more about skin and how to care of it. Yeah, So much more than before.

In fact, I learnt how the skin works, and I realized how many things I was doing wrong before. I'm actually glad I got to work for this company because now I'm so full of those beauty information that I thought I would never learn before.

So because I work in the beauty department, I have to wear makeup almost every day. I find it to be fun, but exhausting as well. Having to wake up earlier because I have to do my makeup, and then coming home knowing that I have to take it all off again. Kind of a lazy though, but what can I say? That makeup life thoe! πŸ˜‚

Anyway, for this post I wanted to write about my "Take It All Off" routine. Basically it will be all about what I use to take off my makeup every night and my skin routine after that.

It is super important that you take off your makeup every time you wear them. Not only because your skin can age way faster than the normal process, but also because your pores can clog in a really bad way. So PLEASEEE!!!! No matter how tired you are or how late you get home, TAKE IT ALL OFF.

So, keep rolling down to check the amazing products that I used on my daily routine to take off my makeup and take care of my skin.

First Step I use to take off my makeup is the wash part:

For that, I use the Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser from Clinique. It is a makeup remover in a foaming form. It is for all skin types, oil-free. I love this foaming so much, it is so creamy just like a mousse. I wash my face with it one time and then I proceed to the next step.

After I wash my face one time with the foaming cleanser, I use a regular face wash. In my case, I use the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control 3-in-1 foaming wash. I like to use this soap just so I can prevent breakouts, or when I have some pimples I use it to clear it up. So basically, I do the 'clean step' twice✌🏼: The makeup remover foaming first, and then the acne control or a regular face wash second with my Sonic Brush from Clinique.

When I'm done with the wash part, sometimes I noticed a little of my mascara or the concealer in the lines around the eye area, so I used an eye makeup remover just so I'll be super clean. I do love to use the Take The Day Off Makeup Remover (purple one) from Clinique. This makeup remover is so good for lids, strong mascaras and lipsticks. It has a silicone which it helps to dissolve the makeup faster. Now, if you are very very very sensible in the eye area, then I wouldn't recommend this one. Instead, get a water based eye makeup remover.

So now that my face is clean, I proceed to the skin care routine:

My skin care routine is very important for me, and it should be for you as well. If you want to have great skin or maintain the one you have, then skin care should be part of your daily routine such as taking a shower, brushing your teeth, etc...

So after I'm done washing my face, I apply a toner or in this case the Clarifying Lotion from Clinique, which is an exfoliating toner. This step is so important in your skin care routine. What it is going to do is to remove all the death cells from the skin, and the excess of oil so the products you put on top of the toner will absorb better.

As soon as the toner dries on the skin, I apply a serum. Sometimes I use the whole 3-step system from Clinique, but lately I've been skipping the Dramatically Different Moisturizer (the yellow moisturizer). So, the serum I'm using at the moment is the Advance Génifique Youth Activating Serum from Lancōme. I love how it feels on the skin, and I've noticed some improvement after using this serum.

Moreover, I let the serum absorb on the skin for like 20-30 seconds, and I proceed to apply a booster moisturizer. After a serum, is always good to moisture your skin because a serum will not hydrate you. A serum will only correct some concerns that you might have in your skin. So, that's why it is important to use a moisturizer on top of it.

In fact, I do love the night moisturizer I'm using now from Clinique. It is the Smart Night Custom Repair Moisturizer, I LOVE IT πŸ’–. It's an oil free moisturizer that helps with uneven skin tone, lifting, lines and wrinkles, radiance of the skin. How amazing is that?

Right after the moisturizer, I pass to the eye area to finish with my whole routine. One thing you need to have clear is that the eye skin area and the face skin are NOT THE SAME. The eye area is thinner than the face, so the products that are for the face ARE NOT MEANT TO BE USE on the eye area. For that area, is only good to use eye creams or products meant to use for the eye πŸ‘€ .

Therefore, I use a very good eye cream (Day & Night) from Clinique as well. It is also from the smart line, Clinique Smart Custom Repair Eye Treatment. I love the fact that it is a treatment so It will be a little bit more intense than the regular eye creams, but if you are very dry on the eye area, then I recommend to use something more hydrating than this cream, or to use it in pair with another creamier eye cream.

So now that I'm done with the skin care routine, I go and lie down on my bed to watch Netflix πŸ˜‚ . Sometimes, I add an extra step if I'm breaking out or have a pimple. I use the Clearing Acne Gel from Clinique to help the pimple to dry out. It has Acne medication and salicylic acid to treat the present acne and to prevent the future one. Like I said before, I just add this step whenever I'm breaking out, so if you are not breaking out or have Acne prone skin then don't use it.

Please keep in mind how important it is to treat your skin. If you don't take care of it nobody else will 😊. I know it can be a little hard sometimes coming home tired, and having to apply all these products, and take off your makeup. However, it's all about discipline with it, even to see faster results.

So, find the products that best suit your skin, and try to apply this routine to your life and you will see a difference!
